After your weight loss surgery, you will also take in less calcium. Elan has developed Calcium Chew chewable tablets especially for people with slimming surgery to supplement your daily requirement. Calcium Chew contains calcium citrate, as this form of calcium is well absorbed by your body. Vitamin D3 has also been added to Calcium chew, as it increases calcium absorption in your bones. Calcium and vitamin D3 contribute to you having strong bones and teeth.
Calcium is not included in Elan's WLS supplements (Compass, Believe and Supreme products) because calcium interferes with iron absorption.
IMPORTANT: If you also use Elan's Compass, Believe or Supreme products, do not take the Calcium Chew tablets at the same time as your Compass, Believe or Supreme products. There should be at least 2 hours between the intake of these supplements to give your body enough time to properly absorb the iron.
